Black Excellence

    April 3-4, 2020
You will need your applicant portal log-in information to register for the event.

Black Excellence is designed to provide admitted high school seniors who identify within the black or African American community with an on-campus experience which will better equip them to make their final choice in attending UNC!

During the visit, you’ll learn more about:
    • How you will be cared for as a whole student at UNC
    • How UNC supports students of color
    • Multicultural organizations and Greek life
    • Academic opportunities
    • Working on campus and paying for college
    • The high academic success rate of students involved with a cultural resource center here at UNC
    Overnight Accommodations

You will also get to experience what it is like to stay in one of UNC's Residence Halls. After checking in on Friday afternoon, each student will be assigned to their room/roommate.

Note: On-Campus Housing is only included for the student. On-campus housing is NOT provided for parents or support people.

There are no overnight accommodations offered on-campus for parents and support people. There are a variety of off-campus options for overnight accommodations linked below. Bear Biz frequently updates their list of businesses, including dining, recreational activities, and hotels.

If you wish to stay off-campus, there are many options in Greeley to choose from! It is recommended to make your reservations as early as possible as rooms fill quickly in Greeley, especially during summer. Some overnight accommodations offer exclusive discounts to UNC students/visitors. Click the Bear Biz link below to see more details.
