Background: ¡Buenas! I was born in San Salvador, El Salvador, but grew up in Brighton, Colorado—just outside of Greeley. I transferred to the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) as a junior, and it was the best decision I could have made! Not only did I find my communidad on campus, but I also discovered my passion for advocating and supporting underserved communities in higher education. I am a proud two-time Bear; I earned my B.S. in Human Services and my M.A. in Higher Education and Student Affairs Leadership (HESAL).

As a Latina, first-generation, DREAMer student, I understand the challenges of navigating higher education and am committed to supporting our students on their journey. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, reading, and spending time with my husband and our two dogs. I’m excited to be back at UNC, helping our future Bears thrive!

Favorite place at UNC: The César Chavez Cultural Center! It became my “home away from home” during my time at UNC and I always love to go back and visit the amazing staff. Also, they have great food at their events.

Favorite place in Greeley: I’m a big reader, so I love visiting the The Midnight Oil Bookstore in Downtown Greeley.

Favorite UNC fact: Did you know they used to host a haunted house in the basement of Harrison Hall every Halloween? UNC has a pretty haunted history and there are a couple of well-known ghost stories around campus and at certain buildings. Like the “friendly” ghost affectionally named Paco at the César Chávez Cultural Center.

Favorite Famous Bear: Yogi Bear! "Hey-Hey-Hey, Smarter than the average bear!"
